AIRPORTS IN SOUTH KOREA

International airports: Gimhae International Airport (PUS), Incheon International Airport (ICN), Seoul Kimpo Airport, South Korea (SEL)

Airlines: two airlines serve major domestic cities - Asiana Airlines and Korean Air.


Gimhae International Airport, South Korea (PUS)

General Information: The airport is located 17 miles (27km) West of the city.  Approximate travel time is 30-60 minutes.

Departure Tax:  KRW 9000. (1 US Dollar is approximately  1,180 South-Korean Won)

Business Facilities at the Airport: a business room is located on the first floor of the International Terminal  Services include meeting rooms, telephone, fax machines and computers.

Transportation: Buses to major hotels. Taxis and rental cars are available.  KAL limousine buses run non-stop to the Hae-un-dae and Busan Station via major hotels.
 

Incheon International Airport (ICN)

General Information:  The airport is located on Yongjong Island 32 miles (52km) from central Seoul. Journey time to central Seoul is approximately 50 minutes.

Departure Tax:  KRW 9000. (1 US Dollar is approximately  1,180 South-Korean Won)

Business Facilities at the airport: The airport has two business centres.  One is Diners Club International, opens from  8 am to 8 pm.  Services include Internet, fax, photocopying, local phone calls, food and drink. There is a fee for non-member. The other one is Paradise Business Centre, located on the  second floor of Millennium Hall. There is also a business centre in the Air Garden transit hotel inside the airport that offers secretarial services, photocopying, fax, computer, parcel delivery and messaging services.  At Diners Club International and Paradise Business Centre, there are conference rooms equipped with video conferencing systems.

Transportation:  Taxi drivers use a meter.  Deluxe taxis, loaded up to 9 people, can be hired at the airport. Expressway tolls fee is paid separately from the taxi fare.  There is a 15-20% surcharge for travelling after midnight.  There are also limousine buses and regular inter-city buses.

Train: A high-speed railway connection between Gimpo International Airport and Incheon International Airport should be complete in 2005. A connection with Seoul train station should be complete in 2007.

Seoul Kimpo Airport, South Korea (SEL)

General Information:  the airport is 11 Miles (17km) West of Seoul.  Approximate travel time is 20-30 minutes.

Transportation: Taxi to city costs around KRW 4,500.  There is also Airport bus that costs about KRW 1000.
