Carbon black manufacture approved for promotion

In order to reduce production costs and to increase exports of products using carbon black, the BOI announced it would reinstate basic zone-based promotional incentives for the manufacture of the substance.

Carbon black is a major ingredient used to make a wide range of products such as rubber, tires, ink, plastics, film, and paint.

Approximately 90% of Thailand's carbon black is used for tire production. Major tire manufacturers such as Michelin, Bridgestone and Goodyear have expanded in Thailand, thus increasing domestic demand for carbon black.
